George was loyal and a very devoted Best Friend. He Rocked my World. When I relocated to Space Coast Florida, George would visit 3-5 times a year. We watched several Shuttle Launches, took a Cruised Ship to Bahamas. Walked Beaches in Cocoa, Miami, Key West, Visited Horse & Dog Tracks in Melbourne & Daytona. We attended Louisville Football Game in Jacksonville and occasionally We drove up to Louisville together. When He decided to get his Body in Shape, He was focused, dedicated, persistent and Wow He attained an Athletic Body.
When George was diagnosed with Cancer, I became very angry and really pushed Him to fight it. He put up with a lot of Lip from me and never complained. I think about Him often and my Smile reaches High to The Skye. Amen.

George,
I am still thinking of you and still very sad. You were such a dear friend to me and my family, especially, Mike, Scott , and Cissy. I thank you for that. You will be missed and loved always!

Dearest Podge,

I have loved you since we met in September 1963 trying to fathom Burley Crowe at Vanderbilt.

I have loved your lopsided specious upbeat philosophy in all those downer moments in our lives. You always made me laugh and even almost a convert to your quiet solid upbeat.

An optimist to the end were you and I am so glad I visited with you this past September and if the celebration is at Churchill Downs, I know you will be right beside me. Just not with any good bets.

I hurt as I know your family does and I wish them good memories for a good man.

I, so, am going to miss you.

The Skup - forever for you.
