Nicky, I met your brother in 1981, here in D.C. Down through the years we have maintained a close friendship. I extend my deepest and sincerest sympathy to you and your family. We all have to go down that road someday, but find comfort in the fact that his pain and suffering is over. Vernon is absent in body but not in the mind. Ronald {SMITTY} Smith.

Uncle Kit,
You were one of my favorite Uncles. You made all of us feel that we could do anything we set our minds to. You and I shared a love for learning, books, music...I loved just being in your prescence. Even though you left in body, your loving spirit will always be remembered, cherished, and felt. This is not goodbye...this is "See you later" I love you!!

Vernon you were a valued and cheerful colleague and friend. You may have departed this life into the hands of the Lord, but your legacy as an astute French teacher in the District of Columbia Public Schools lives on forever. Que descanse en paz.

Nick, you have my deepest sympathy on the death of your brother. I know how important he was in your life. Your care and support during the last years must have brought him great comfort. Your relationship was quite special and while this makes the loss so very painful, I do believe your closeness and warm memories will bring you comfort.
