I live in the neighbor and just this Monday learned of John's passing. Although I only spoke briefly with him, he was always kind and had a wonderful smile. He will be missed. He would always wave if I was working out in the yard. He raised two wonderful and polite sons. Prayers for you both.

It is always hard to understand the timing when god calls for someone, particularly a person that you have been close to and you have had a chance to enjoy pleasures of life with. I have known John since before he entered the Air Force. I did not get to spend an awful lot of time with him, but enough to know that he was a good man and enjoyable to be around. Very Personable, easy going, and easy to talk to. John loved his family dearly and as you can see by the comments of others, he was proud and would let you know it. He also loved those Cardinals and was a true fan thru good and bad. John was one of the first original donors to help build Papa John Cardinal Stadium. He loved different kinds of crazy hats and had the nerve to wear them out just about anywhere. John had a unique laugh, you could pick him out of a crowd with the lights off. John was always very friendly to me anytime I saw him and was very open and down to earth. I enjoyed time spent with him and he will be greatly missed, he touched a lot of lives.

I worked with John for 13 years, had a lot of "Cardinal Corner Conversations" with him. He was a kind man, and will be missed.

John,
Some say that you spell love – T I M E. I saw that spending time with the people that you cared about brought everyone joy. Personally conversations with you were always easy because we had so much in common. We could talk about our time in the military or our love for the cardinals for hours. We could relate to these things as if we had talked about them for years. What I will never forget was how inspirational you were as a father. Mentioning your boys brought joy to your face in ways that anyone could envy especially a father myself. I pray that we will always remember your warm smiles and laughter and how much you enjoyed watching your loved ones progress. Hopefully you will get to watch over all of us as we attempt to follow your legacy.
