John,

You are one of the best friends I have ever had.

You were always loving and kind to me. I remember when I was a little child, I loved when you came over to visit my father. I would get so excited to see my dad's best friend, and you would always talk to me and make me giggle..... especially when you would call me "Little General Patton" due to my big voice and boisterous personality.

As I grew older, we remained friends and I loved when we would go to the VFW for a beer or two and talk about your service in the Korean War and the Army. I meant it when I told you that you are my favorite veteran. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for our country.

Thank you for being a lifelong friend and I will miss miss you greatly. Your sense of humor, your sincere kindness, and thoughfullness have left an indellable positive impression on my life. There are not many people that come along in life that are as wonderful as you.

Rest in peace, my great friend.....and never forget......"'Maters, Minners, and Mayonnaise....." will always be etched in my mind and put a smile on my face. :)

Happy boating and fishing in heaven, my friend. Your arrival will be heralded by all awaiting you who are there.

Love,
Sherry
