GREENWOOD, MARY LEE (POWELL), 71, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Sarasota, FL after a nine-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mary Lee was involved in banking in Oldham County for over 30 years, before moving to Northern Kentucky in 2003. She was a graduate of the Kentucky School of Banking, Kentucky Bank Management Institute Loan Officer School and PNC Bank's Small Business Lending School. Her last position before her retirement in April 2012 was as vice president/senior lender/compliance officer at Farmers National Bank in Walton. Mary Lee was a charter member and past president of the South Oldham County Rotary Club, the first chairperson of the Oldham County Tourist and Convention Commission, past president of Financial Women International/Louisville Group and a former member of the Oldham County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to serving on the boards of many local organizations and charities, she was the first woman to serve on the board of directors of the South Oldham Fire Department in their 50+ year history. In 1995, she was the recipient of the first Oldham County Business and Professional Women's Woman of Achievement Award. She also served as director of the Oldham County Historical Society and the Crestwood Merchants Association, and was co-chair of the Oldham Metro United Way campaign. She was a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church.
Mary Lee is survived by her sons, Donald (April) of Sarasota and Glen (Suzanne) of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Jackson and Emily Greenwood of Sarasota, Joseph of Fort Myers and Nicholas Vescio of Cookeville, TN; a sister, Laverne Kelly of Midland, TX; many loving nieces and nephews; dear friends Claudette (Greenwood) and Ron Logsdon; and her loving friend, caregiver and former husband, Kenneth L. Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Ben Powell, and her brother, Harold.

If I could have called my boss my friend, it definitely was Mary Lee. The best boss and person I ever worked with in my years of banking. So sorry for our and her family's loss.
