To my Marine brother; "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother." w.s.

"No greater love has a man than to lay down his life for another."

Thank you Sgt. Acklin

Sgt. Gary E. Best

My condolences goes out to the Acklin family. Michael and I was in school together at Fort Campbell, Ky. The one thing I remember is his smile. Through the rough times in school you can always count on his smile to bring your spirits up. May God bless his family and friends.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the parents and grandparents of Michael. I had not known Mike for that long. We met when we were in school together at Ft. Campbell to make Sgt. From the moment we met Mike and I became close friends. Up until the time we were both deployed to Iraq we remained in contact. To lose a good friend like Mike breaks my heart and I will miss so very much. He is in his rightful place with the angels.
My thoughts and prayers will always be with his family.

I just wanted to express my sincere sympathy to the family of Sgt. Michael Acklin. I worked with his grandfather at the truck plant before he retired and when I saw the pictures of Michael and Gene in the union paper, I was saddened even more to learn of this loss. I am also a Butler alum and was there at the Veterans Day program when Sgt. Acklin was remembered for his sacrifice. At that time, I didn't know that Michael was Gene's grandson. I know that it will be particularly difficult for all of you this holiday season, but I believe that Michael is now resting in our Father's arms.
May the the Lord comfort you now and always. I will continue to remember all of you in my prayers.
