Condolences from Peter's old neighborhood in Greensboro, NC before he and his family moved to Louisville about 1948- c. 1951-2. Peter was one of The Three: Johnny, Jerry, and Peter carted around in Mrs. Conn's fabulous car with the rumble seat.

I just found out about Peters passing. I only knew him briefly but he was a wonderful man. His smile lit up the room. His love for his wife was so touching as you could see it in his eyes when she was near him. My condolences to his family and especially his wife that took such wonderful care of him and made sure he had everything he needed. God Bless.

I was saddened to learn of Peter's death. He and I were friends of long standing and political allies in many a campaign in Kentucky in years past.

My late wife, Helen, and I visited Peter during his stint in the United States Virgin Islands, and had a wonderful time exploring America's Paradise with him in the lead.

I lost contact with Peter in recent years, but I gather from the obituary that he remained active, productive and contributing until his end.

I extend condolences to Peter's widow and his entire family.

I was not a personal friend of Peter, but everyone at Seneca knew him. I gratuated with the class of 1962. He was the guy going anywhere and everywhere, snapping photos of anything that moved, especially our sports teams. So sorry for your loss.

Peter was not only a client , but a good friend. Very intelligent and high integrity. Had not had contact with Peter the last few years, but Joni and I previously enjoyed his and Tara's company. Sorry for the family's loss.

FROM COMMENTS IN THE COURIER JOURNAL AFTER PETER'S OBITUARY APPEARED:

Ann Truitt Hunsaker · Lexington, Kentucky
I served with Peter when he was Secretary of Human Resources. He is one of the best bosses I have ever worked for. Tough, demanding but above all fair and with high expectations for everyone's performance. There was never any doubt where he stood on an issue. My thoughts are with his family.

Jeff Rogers · Works at Juvenile and Adult Corrections
I too worked for Peter. Like Ann says he was fair but firm and he expected you to be the best in the business whatever your job was. He taught me many lessons and they have stayed with me ever since. I owe him a tremendous debt and I can only hope I have performed up to his high standards. I will miss you Peter.

John Cannon · Georgrtown College KY
Good man i enjoyed working with him in Ky and WDC

Peter was a wonderful fellow with a bright intellect, who made a terrific contribution to our community and state. I am very sorry to hear of his passing - but, for sure, his wife and family have every reason to be proud of him and the integrity and strength of character that he stood for while amongst us. My prayers are with Peter's family.

Peter and worked together in the Governor's office in the 70's. He was as bright and caring as any public servant I knew. I feel fortunate to have known him.

Although I have not been in contact with Peter for many years, I was sorry to read of his passing in Wednesday and Thursday's Courier Journal.
Peter and I were good friends in our younger years. I was there at his first marriage, and he was a groomsman in my wedding. As frequently happens we went our separate ways in life, but I will always cherish his friendship. My thoughts are with his family.

Peter was a man of integrity and honesty; exceptionally talented with a goal of excellency. His life long achievements were indicative of just that. Refreshing to have known him.

I worked with Peter and his father Lewis at the Jefferson Reporter in the 70's. I have very fond memories of the Conn family!
