Dear Family of Rex... I just wanted you to know that Rex came willingly to the Christopher Gibson School to help with a summer program many years ago. The schools were experiencing turmoil with desegregation efforts and very negative publicity prevailed. It was due to Rex and his appearances that the school had one of the most successful summer programs which brought together children from different neighborhoods during a most difficult time in Boston. I thought you would want to know this. I salute Rex for the part he played in bringing togetherness to the hearts and minds of the children and their parents I was Principal of the school at that time.I am sure that this was a typical example of his CARING for those he entertained.

I took a course with Rex at Emerson College, and after graduation, I did an internship with him at Fox 25 in Needham. Using him as a reference, I landed my first TV production job at a manufacturing company, where I met my future husband. Thanks, Rex, for everything. We will miss you!
