Alan PITTARD Obituary

PITTARD, Sr., Alan Alan Young Pittard, Sr., 93, of Buford, GA died July 17, 2014. Born in Duluth, GA in 1921, he was a graduate of UGA and served in WWII. He was plant manager of Oxford Industries. Alan was an avid golfer and worked at the Old Atlanta Golf Club. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Alan was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Pittard, parents, Mack and Martha Pittard, four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Judy; three sons, Alan, Jr. (Kathy) of Poway, CA, Richard (Kay) of Sugar Hill, GA, and Steve (Jennifer) of Macon, GA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a brother, Sam. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.billheadfuneralhome. com. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hebron Baptist Church, PO Box 279, Dacula, GA 30019 (770)962-3671. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Bill Head Funeral Homes & Crematory Duluth Chapel (770)476-2535.

My heart goes out to my Uncle Alan's family and friends. He was such a good, kind, sweet, loving man and he is going to be sorely missed. I have only good memories of time spent in Duluth with my Uncle Alan and Aunt Judy (known to all her family as Bobbie). Having lived in the north most of my life, I did not get to see them as often as I would have liked. But we kept up on the phone and in email. He always kept his sense of humor and wry wit and I will so miss talking with him. May God Bless and keep Alan and all his family.
