Charles T. 'Charlie' Gay
Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother
BILLERICA -- Charles T. "Charlie" Gay, age 84, beloved husband of Loretta (DeLisle) Gay, died Friday, at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley, after a long illness.
He was born in Boston, July 24, 1929, the son of the late Thomas E. and Mary (Spence) Gay, and lived in Burlington before moving to Billerica 53 years ago.
Mr. Gay was a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Billerica for over 29 years, worked in the housekeeping department of Lahey Clinic in Burlington, and was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Gay of Billerica and Charles T. Gay Jr. and his wife Cindy of Lowell; four daughters, Linda Voner and her husband, Charlie of Reading, Lorrie Mackness and her husband, Ernie of Lowell, Lisa Woodard and her husband, Charlie of Lawrence, and Christine Thompson and her husband, Nate of Manchester, NH; two sisters, Mary Lunceford of NH and Betty Gay of FL; seven grandchildren, Tory, Allyson, Brian, Sarah, Ashley, Kyle and Simone; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alan, Walter and Irene Gay, and Thelma Chalioux.
GAY -- Of Billerica, Jan. 10, Charles T. "Charlie" Gay. Funeral Tues. from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary's Church, Billerica at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Mon. from 4 - 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Loretta and Family..........so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I grew up next door to the Gay's my entire childhood. I always think of Charlie as a kind and hard working boy and man. Sue Towse Cook
