LOWELL -- Mr. Christoforos Keratsopoulos, 85, passed away on Tuesday April 8th.
He was born on April 25, 1928 in Polylakos, Kozani, Greece a son of the late Athanasios and Thomai (Karapandos) Keratsopoulos.
Christoforos worked in Athens, Greece for the Royal Family as a secret service agent helping to protect their family for many years. He immigrated to the United States in 1967 settling in Lowell. In Lowell, he worked various jobs over the years in the shoe and construction industry.
He was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell.
He leaves behind his wife of sixty two years, Margarita (Goutsis) Keratsopoulos, two daughters, Athena Doulamis and her husband Nikolaos, Catherine Keratsopoulos all of Lowell; two grandchildren, Theodora and Kristina Doulamis, a nephew, John Keratsopoulos of Lowell, a sister, Peristera Briazas; a brother, Aristidis Keratsopoulos both of Greece; and many nieces, nephews, from the United States and Greece.
KERATSOPOULOS -- Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Thursday, April 10th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. His funeral will take place on Friday at 9am at the Funeral Home to be followed by a service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. George Church, 44 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, MA. 01851. Funeral arrangements under the direction of directors, Louis M. To Margarita Keratsopoulos and Family, my deepest sympathies for the loss of your husband and father. I am related through my mother Malamati Keratsopoulos Lelos who was married to Demetrios Lelos. My mother was born in Polilakos, Kozani, Greece. May his memory be eternal.
