Maria Behrakis
Loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt

DRACUT -- Maria (Stavropoulos) Behrakis, of Dracut, passed away Friday, July 4th, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her family.

Maria was born in Greece in 1933, a daughter of the late Demetra (Preketes) and Elias Stavropoulos. At the age of 17, she immigrated to the United States.

Early on, Maria worked at the Lowell textile mills, and subsequently at USCI Bard in Billerica. Alex & Family,
I found myself reading about Maria's passing in shock & disbelief. I never forgot, will never forget her givingness, her genuine belly laughter, the sparkle in her eye, her interesting stories, her enthusiasm for showing me how to make "real" Greek food and the limitless love she had for her family. Maria was Everything and always will be.
My deepest sympathy and sincere condolences for your loss.
