William P. 'Mick' McManus
of Lowell, decorated Marine Vet; 66
LOWELL -- William P. "Mick" McManus, age 66, died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 1, 2013, at his Lowell residence.
He was born in Lynn on October 27, 1946, a son of the late Francis and Ruth (Connors) McManus. Mick was educated in Lowell schools. Upon graduation from Lowell High School, he enlisted in the Marines. He served tours in Vietnam with the rank of Corporal where he received a Purple Heart.
When Mick was discharged from the Marines he began a career as a machine operator for Ideal Tape. He retired after more than 35 years of employment.
Mick enjoyed going to the beach but, most of all, he looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Micah and Valerie McManus of Lowell; a daughter Melissa McManus of Lowell; 11 grandchildren, Corey, John, Cassidy, Dayme, Randy, Raymie, Micalie, Devin, Christian, Fernando and Angel "Baby Kevin"; and his best friend of 19 years, Lu.
McMANUS -- Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street from 4 until 7 PM on Monday. Funeral Services and Burial will be private.

Mick will be greatly missed. He was one of the leaders of the Ideal Tape family. We will miss his booming voice and his huge presence.
