great reporter who will be missd
may he RIP
A highlight of my year as a Knight Wallace Fellow was an encounter with the legendary newsman who so generously supported the program. I rode my bike to Wallace House the evening Mike Wallace was meeting with our group. As I struggled to tie the bike to a post on uneven ground, a familiar voice behind me bellowed: “Do you need any help?” Before I could say anything, the world's most famous journalist was crouched down next to me, steadying my bike while I locked it. May he rest in peace.
My sincere condolence to the Mike Wallace Family. As a teenager, I only watched the news when I had to do "current events" as a high school class assignment. However, upon graduating from high school, '60 Minutes' was born and I became a great fan of the show and its correspondent Mike Wallace. When Mike said "Come on" it use to gas me. I thought that that was so c-o-o-l. Fortunately for me, 60 Minutes was the turning point in my life for the love and respect for journalism. RIP Mike Wallace.
Mr. Wallace, you will surely be missed. RIP. Sandy Rogers, Hull,Ga
A truly blessed man... GOD bless the family of Mike Wallace.
Rest in peace Mike, may God bless your soul. Many prayers go out to close friends and family. God bless Mike Wallace. Beyond great news reporting over more than half a century, we observe his courage in opening up about clinical depression. He gave hope to members of the public suffering from this very real disease which had previously -- over decades -- been wrongly termed a weakness in character.
A legend in his own time, he will be missed.
Although the great one, Mike Wallace, has passed on, the World's all the better because of him; gentle but fierce in his efforts to reveal truth whether considered favorable or not.

Mike Wallace will long be remembered for the tough questions he would ask in an interview and by the way he wouldn't back away from making someone uncomfortable with his questions. He was a true professional in every sense of the word.

spirit about him. The way he carried himself...he reminded me of my own father in looks and personalty. God bless his family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I can say how much we've enjoyed his on-air work, but I can only imagine what a wonderful person he was in private. I think death is just another assignment for Mike. I'll bet today he's interviewing Abe Lincoln.
Sadly missed but not forgotten.
I was honored to meet Mike Wallace some 15 years ago, and since, we became great friends. I had the unique opportunity to sit and listen while the worlds most prolific interviewer shared stories of interviews both past and current with such a deep stair and twinkle in his eye. Mike will always be a wonderful man, and a Genius with a pen. who would have ever thought he would befriend a young man from Atl Ga, just because he was friendly. May GODS peace and love embrace Mike and his family. Until we see each other again old friend....
An extraordinary man. He will be missed. Condolences to his family.
To the Wallace Family,
We are sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Wallace. He lived a rich, full life. I admire his journalistic style. May he rest in peace.
Mike was extremely interesting to listen to and did great interviews. He will be missed very much. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.
Rest in peace Mike, you did a great job.
I have been an avid fan and observer of "The 60 Minutes" TV show since its' beginning. My friends couldn't understand why I had to be home every Sundat nite by 7 pm. Mike was my favorite journalist along with Morley Saffer, Ed Bradley and that entire 60 Minutes team. I van't forget the first time I heard Chris on the air not realizing that Mike had a son who not only sounded like him but had so many of his fathers mannerisms and facial featured. Mike is now Gods reporter. What a busy and interesting job that must be.
Children & young adults will never know an EXCELLENT person & reporter Mr. Wallace was. He was & is a true person. I also loved to watch 60 minutes because of him. I thought he had a soothing voice. RIP Mr. Wallace. May your family know that lots of Americans here in the US & abroad as well as other people know that he was loved.
God bless you Mr. Wallace. Enjoy your new segment in the sky. My grandmother loved you, Harry Reasoner and Dan Rather. I know she is smiling right now knowing you are also in eternal paradise.
Rest in peace Mike Wallace....your job is over....time to fly with the Angels...God bless your family.
Mike Wallace was one of the reasons I loved to watch 60 Minutes, while he was a reporter for the show. He told the 'real news' and made it interesting for someone like myself who was not very interested in the news. My condolences to Mr. Wallace's family. He will truly be missed. God bless and keep you all.
Mike Wallace was a true icon in the news world. While he wasn't always a ‘gentle' giant when conducting his interviews, they were always interesting and dynamic and he had the skills to really emote people and get the facts. We are all fortunate to know him and have learned from him – even if only via seeing him on “60 Minutes” and other news media. He worked for a very long time and enjoyed his career. I extend my sincere sympathy to his family.
RIP! you were an honest reporter. The news has lost its one of a kind in reporting
My condolences to his family

Some people simply define us as a Nation of enquirers. This was so of Mike Wallace. My condolences to his family and close friends.
I enjoyed watching his interviews. He sometimes reminded me of the character Colombo (portrayed by Peter Falk) in the way he humbly asked some of his very direct questions. It was disarming to some of his subjects & he got the answers. Who will he interview first in Heaven? My prayers to his family.
Sad, sad day in news history... you were awesome R.I.P. Mr. Walace... May god bless your family and let all your memories keep them going in the tough time...

He was a hero and inspiration for me - from his journalism ethics to his personal battle with depression. The courage it took for him to make a documentary looking at himself in the same harsh light that he cast on others was inspirational.
A long admirer of Mr. Wallace on t.v., I had the privilege of meeting him at a conference with my family in the late seventies. He was there for the entire weekend and we spoke with him on several occasions. I was surprised and delighted to find him, quite frankly, very different from the hard-nosed interviewer. He was charming and personable and very non-threatening.
I am so sorry he has left us.
Mike Wallace will truely be missed. I grew up with him on tv.
Thanks for the many places I had the pleasure of visiting and the many people I met by watching you.
I simply thought he was one of the best newsmen of my era. His use of words compelled any listener to use his dictionary more often. -Robert Rawson (Batesville, MS)

Mr. Wallace, I'll carry your heart in my heart.Thank you for everything you taught me.Rest in peace.
Mr. Wallace's fine work helped me learn how to think and got me interested in the world at large. He was a great and good man.
Dear Mary, Chris, Pauline and Family,
I had the honor of working as Mike's "strong right arm," as he would say, from 1988 through 1993,certainly the highlight of MY career, though it was a more like a sneeze in Mike's much longer and illustrious career.
I remember that Mike took particular delight in making football wages with his young grandson, Peter. And, he once included a note which indicated something to the effect of, "You'd better keep this check...it will one day be worth more than the amount it is written for."
Mike will be missed not only by those who watched him on TV, but also by those who were fortunate enough to work with him over the years.
My condolences to all of you. May he rest in peace.
Thank you, Mike for all that you did to keep us interested and informed in the affairs of our country and the world. Deepest sympathy to your family and friends,as another member of the Greatest Generation passes. Godspeed.
To the Family of Mike Wallace,
When someone we love becomes a memory that memory becomes a treasure
Love is a bond of hearts that parting cannot sever, In sprit and in memory love lives on forever
Those we love and lose are together with us in heart, forever with us in memory
In memory of a life so beautifully lived, a heart so deeply loved
They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before They are now … wherever we are
Never out of heart or mind, just briefly out of sight, for parting cannot take away what time will reunite
Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever
God Bless,
Kimtraila Williams
Dear Wallace Family,
The year was 2006 and I was walking in the City back to my hotel from St. Patrick's Cathedral. I hesitated to cross the street and a gentleman beside me said when the light changes you need to go..or you'll be here longer than you think... it was Mike Wallace who I admired from his work on 60 Minutes. I laughed, and said 'he who hesitates....' we both had a laugh walked a few more blocks, sharing some conversation until we parted ways. This encounter is one of the highlights of my life. Mr. Wallace was truly a wonderful person, and a testament to what is right with journalism.
May you rest in peace Mr. Wallace, and may Chris and the rest of the family find comfort in all those who respected and loved your work.

To the Wallace Family,

Mr. Wallace was a successful man whom I enjoyed watching on 60 Min. with his energy and drive, he was above and beyond as a reporter. He lived a full life and showed the world that retirement was non-word to him. He will live on as wonderful role model who brought many issues to the forefront concerning depression, becoming a Senior citizen with energy and drive and doing what he loved to do.
Rest In Peace Mr. Wallace, Rest In Peace.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Mr. Wallace, you made an impact on my life as a young man with the very insightful and probing interviews you did. You will be sorely missed. I pray God continues to bless and comfort your family. May God rest your soul.

To the Mike Wallace Family,
May you know and be comforted by how many people around the world, myself included, are sending you love and deepest sympathies.
We know now that Mike is at peace and back with his ol' pal and co-worker Andy Rooney up in HEAVEN putting together their own version of 60 Minutes. I bet Andy is the one who called Mike to join up with him because they were friends down here on EARTH for many years. You were missed, as it was to be your choice to cut back hours, seeing your face every Sunday evening. It just won't be the same without you, but we know that the rest of the cast will carry on knowing that the day will come when all of you will be grouped together with the LORD. GOD, must have needed another correspondent and you were next to be chosen. GOD BLESS MIKE'S SOUL and the REST OF HIS FAMILY.
I watched him on TV for many years. Thoughts and Prayers go out to his family and friends.May he Rest in Peace.
I never knew you and yet I will always know and remember you.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
You will be greatlly missed. We depended on you to bring us unvarnished truth and you were one the last of the greats to do that. God bless you and your family.

Condolences. The world of journalism is less one honest person.
I am so sorry to hear of Mikes passing. He was a wonderful reporter. I loved watching him through the years. If Mike was on... I'm watching. He will be missed by everyone.
You were the best, informative and entertaining. God bless you in your journey home.
Another great voice for journalism is forever silenced. He is and was my idol, what I believe a reporter should be. My condolances to the family. rest in peace Mike.
Mike Wallace was always a welcome and familiar presence in our home during his tenure on "60 Minutes." He will be missed.
Thank you for all you did. And thank you for handing me my college diploma in 1981 at Providence College. It was an honor to watch you work. RIP
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was in the sauna at the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA maybe 6 years ago and there was just me and another. An older man fit trim and with a kind face trying to find a towel. I helped him and noticed it was wallace. We sat in the sauna just the two of us and talked for awhile. Later that night we found ourselves standing at the drive to get picked up seperately to go to dinner. Him with Nancy reagan me with a business associate. As we stood there, a woman walks by and says. Oh my God its Morley Safer... He tipped his head and said. Nice to meet you. We chatted more about his tennis game and he asked about my business. Heidis Brooklyn Delis. He was wonderful. I will NEVER forget that Moment. Thank you Mike Wallace. Steve Naples
