Marsha Dea - call me. I love you and your Mom. I am heartbroken over this - Kalynne

I first met Charlene and Marshall when I was at SMU with Marsha Dea in 1980. Charlene and Marshall became like a second set of parents to me as I spent many Easter and Thanksgiving celebrations with them in Slaton and we had such good times when they would come to visit in Dallas. It has always been awe-inspiring to me how much they loved Marsha Dea and how close she was to her parents. The way that this family has cared about each other until the end has been truly remarkable. My children adored Charlene and she them; she always took such a special interest in each one. The world has lost a dear, dear soul but her inspiration lives on. Thank you for the unforgettable memories.

I graduated from Slaton High in 1969. A large reason for my completing high school was Mrs. Davis. She helped me when most teachers had washed their hands. I taught public school for 28 years and Mrs. Davis was never far from my mind when dealing with a troubled student. I wrote her a letter a couple of years ago to let her know how she had helped me so long ago. She was a really special person.

Marsha Dea, your mother has meant so much to me over the years. The friendship between her and my mom over these years has been such a blessing to watch. Your mom always had that beautiful smile on her face, and showed such caring for all of the Willingham family. We all loved her so much; and my mom will miss her best friend more than we will even know. You have been a wonderful daughter, taking care of your mom. I want to see you soon. I'll be in touch. And my prayers are being sent for you, that you have God's peace as you grieve. Much love to you, Sharon

David and Marsha Dea, your mother was an inspirational teacher and mentor to me throughout my secondary education. I loved being in her choir and listening to her sing so beautifully. Your grandmother was my piano teacher as well. I remember when the two of you came into her life and how happy and proud she was of both of you. Many condolences during this time of loss.
