Don's passing came as shock. He served the 401st Bomb Group Association well as historian. He has helped countless people make sense of their connections to the 401st, and contributed so much to our group.
We will all miss his warm smile and bear hugs. Take time to rejoice in your memories of Don as well as mourning his passing.
I was lucky to have known him

Rick Kaufman
President, 401st Bomb Group Association

Dear Family of Don, it is with a heavy heart I am joining yours that I express and share my sincere condolences in your loss of Don. He was still so very young and so very important into so many lives. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal...LOVE leaves a memory no one can steal." It was our privilege to know Don Byers through our association with the 401st Bomb Group Assoc. where he was the most talented and wonderful Historian. REST PEACEFULLY dear DON.

Beverley. So very sorry for your lost. I remember Donny as a cute little boy who liked to torment us girls way back when. As an older sister who lost both younger brothers I can understand your loss. Please pass on my condolences to his family. May God bless each and every one of you
