I salute you sir. I also salute all of the other veterans in Willamette National Cemetery including my father and great uncle. US Navy veterans of WWII(Pacific). Also my brother who died young likely related to his service in the US Army in Vietnam .

Currently reading his book - Easy Company Soldier. Wish I could have met Don. I'm am amazed at the generation that fought the great war. I've lots of family, now gone that fought in the war. Their generation is missed.

This MAN embodied what it meant to be a U.S. Patriot Warrior fighting Axis evil for nothing less than the freedom we enjoy today that so many in this country take for granted.
Thank You for your Service!
You will never be forgotten.

Dear Malarkey Family,
It is with a very heavy heart that I learned of your father's passing. My father who landed on Utah Beach on D-Day died in 1997. What I wouldn't give for a few more minutes with him. That prompted me to write a letter to your father this past June thanking him for his service, particularly for his and Easy Company's actions at Brecourt Manor which very possibly could have saved my dad's life. I send you my deep sympathy, knowing you must be as proud of his life as I am of my dad's. It is a bond that connects us.
God's blessings.
