Although Cal has been gone almost a year and I am just now finding out that he has passed I still want to add my condolences to Mrs. Lowery and Cal's entire Family. I graduated from The University of Alabama in August, 1971 and reported for USAF Pilot Training at Webb, AFB in Big Spring with my new bride in November, 1971. One of the first people I met upon arriving in Big Spring was Cal Lowery. He asked my name and I responded 2nd Lt. Michael G. Fambrough Class 73-03. I never again was asked by Cal for my name, he never forgot it nor any other Student Pilot's name. It was uncanny and over the years I have told many people about Cal and his amazing ability to remember the names of people. He had a great calming effect on me and my fellow pilots and he always had a smile and a firm hand shake. I thought the world of Cal and just wanted your family to know that there are literally thousands of students he worked with at Webb and we will all carry his memory in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
Dear Lowry Family:
Coach Cal was special to me. I will cherish my friendship with him forever!
Doris and family,
I just learned of Cal's death today. Cal was truly a kind hearted and gentle man. I will always have fond memories of him. I did call dad to let him know and it shook him. I know he will miss Cal greatly.
Coach Cal was a great man. I remember as a player at Coronado how supportive he was and how much we respected and appreciated him! Then I worked with him when I coached at CHS and grew to like and respect him even more. He will be missed! He touched a lot of lives!
When Coach Cal would walk down a hallway at CHS, he was always the most popular and respected person in that hallway. He had an uncanny ability to connect with students - we trusted his advice, respected his selflessness, and were stronger from his encouragement. Coach Cal gave so much and will always be missed.
Doris, so sorry to hear of the loss of the love of your life. Thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief.
My deepest condolences to the family my prayers are with you.

What do I say about a great man that God put on this Earth all those years ago. He was a Coach, a teacher, a mentor to all his students including myself. I still remeber the card I got after I had graduated high school he had sent me . He told me to always follow my dreams wherever I may go. I will always remeber the times we had in Mrs. Thornhill's class. You made History fun . Heaven gained a wonderful man . Will Miss you Coach Cal . Thank you for all you did for me.
Coach Cal was my mentor who taught me how to long snap a football, his dedication was unwavering and you could not help but to have a smile on your face when working with Coach Cal. I am forever grateful for Coach Cal, and I can't wait to see him on the other side.
I was honored to know and respect Coach Cal when I was a teacher on the staff of Coronado High School. He loved all the CHS students and was loved by them. He will be missed.

I will never forget the times shared with Coach Cal while at CHS in the late 90s. Coach always had a smile on his face and was always willing to put others before himself. He left a lasting impression with many and will be in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Coach.
Coach Lowry always had a smile and pat on the back for me in the hallways at CHS. What a great spirit he shared with everyone he encountered.

Coach Cal was such a great coach/teacher/mentor to me when I was at Coronado High School from 92-94. He always helped me with my school work and mentored me to be a better person in life. He will truly be missed by the CHS mustangs.
Cal is someone I will never forget. He was our PE instructor at Webb AFB (UPT Class 69-03, the "Crimson Crabs". I was very fortunate to reunite with him here in Las Vegas a few years ago. He was just the same as I remembered from '67-'68, and we shared some great memories together. The world will miss Cal.
Coach Cal was one of the biggest and most positive influences in my life. He will be greatly missed.
Doris, so sorry to hear of your loss. Cal was truly " one of a kind". I will always remember all of his words of encouragement to Steven during his basketball days at CHS. May God richly bless you as you go through this time of loss. Edda
