My dearest Meemaw,

Where do I even begin? It's only been a few days but seems like a few weeks. I am so thankful you are whole again but the selfish side of me still wants you here with us. You were such an amazing example of so many things for me, loving wife, nurturing mother and Meemaw, devoted Christian, amazing musician, master seamstress (I can't even sew on a button), and the list could go on. I know you are up in Heaven, reunited with Granddad, just in time for y'all's 70th wedding anniversary. What an amazing accomplishment. We will always love you and miss you terribly. Please keep a hand on us as we continue this journey through life. Until we meet again! Love you forever.

Your youngest granddaughter,
Amber

Larry:

Sharon and I send our love and prayers to you and your family. We have spoken on and off these past few months, and we always do our best to encourage each other when family comes up in the conversation.

We know our Lord, is wrapping his arms around you all, and know, we are lifting you all up with prayers and love.

Peace be with you all.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mom. She and George were our neighbors for seventeen years. Both of them were fun and willing to help. Jean was always up and fully dressed (with make-up on) at the crack of dawn. She kept an eye out for the whole neighborhood and kept us in line. One time we went to Ruidoso and left our backyard water hose running. She discovered it and kept on until she found someone young and spry enough to crawl over the fence and turn it off. Thank goodness. She and George were such wonderful people and part of the greatest generation. Their love and respect for each other made them some of my very favorite people ever. I love them and I miss them.

Jan & Larry and families. So sorry to hear about Jean. It's hard to lose a parent and even harder to lose the second. I'll be thinking of you. Love, Phyllis Lyons, KS

Mrs Hughes was my 3rd grade teacher and I loved her dearly. So sorry to hear this, she was a beautiful sweet lady and I was very blessed to have been her student.

I loved Jean. What a gracious, kind, and helpful neighbor. A very special lady! There is not a more amazing lady!
