Dear Clare,
Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolences . Cecil was a one of a kind very special, outstanding man. George has always believed that Cecil was instrumental in MSU achieving the 1988 Rose Bowl.

We will sorely miss his smiling face and sage advice.

Our very fondest regards to you and your family.

May the family find comfort from friends and the word of God.

Dear Clare,
I loved working for, and with, Cecil. He set the highest standard of scholarship for those who worked under his leadership. His support for the building of a College of Fine Arts at USF produced first rate students and the worldwide success of Graphicstudio.
i have thought of him often with a smile and with respect for his humor and values.
Ruth and I send our condolences to you and the family.

Clare,

I am so sorry for your loss. I've always had a sense of your devotion to Cecil and realize that you must feel such heartbreak at this time. I remember how fun it was on the courts when Cecil was my partner, and how I enjoyed his great sense of humor. He was a treasure and will remain so in my memories. I am holding you in my heart.

I visited with him often, more recently as a fellow guest in the MSU President's box at football games.

President Mackey was a wonderful man, an engaging conversationalist, and very brilliant.

It was a pleasure to have known him. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by Spartans.

Clare,
My heart is with you in this difficult time. As you know Cecil was of great influence on my career and that of so many of our peers at USF. He has been and always will in in my heart as will you.
