Feb 16 and I just found out that Pete has passed away. He was my music teaching partner at Carroll Thompson for 5 years. I could not have asked for a better teaching buddy or friend of the heart. My picture of him beside this computer is the one used in the obit. I am sad for his children and grandchildren. Remembering his smile and laugh will never leave me.

Pete was a member of the Lubbock South Plains Retired Teachers Association, and I am the current president of the organization. He was a faithful member, and I will miss him. He was always so friendly, kind and positive. Your family is in my prayers. May peace and comfort surround you during this sad time. Terri Navrkal

I met, Pete when I was in the 6th grade. He was my music teacher for 4 years, and my favorite teacher. Pete and his wife, Gail, were youth directors at my church, and friends with my parents. When I owned the Doll House Cafe from 1997 until "04", Pete was a weekly regular, and always bought pies during the holidays. He is loved very much, and will be grately missed. Play on, Pete, play on!

Pete Aleman was a member of our 1960 graduating class from Georgetown High School. He was always smiling and happy, fun to be around. A very talented musician, he was president of the GHS band our senior year and won several awards for his talents. He was a great contributor and member of the school yearbook and newspaper staffs. As editor of our newspaper, I could always count on Pete to have great stories for our sports section, so it comes as no surprise that he continued with sports as a youth coach! I think I can speak for the 1960 GHS class when I say that Pete was a delightful classmate who will be remembered fondly. We are saddened to hear of his death. We pray his family and friends will be comforted by the wonderful memories of his outstanding life among us.
