I have known Ray since he started at KRZY in Albuquerque , Very good friend , He made Country Music no 1 in the southwest. Last time I saw him was at the Thunderbird Lounge in Placitas NM. We were with Willie Nelson and the KRZY motor home, Great time. RIP

Ray Moran gave me my first job in radio in Albuquerque circa 1968. Always loved his spirit and radio savvy. KRST was the first FM on Sandia Crest thanks to Ray. Godspeed Ray.

Dana and I are so sad to hear of Ray's passing. He really established a broadcasting empire, and was, indeed, a pioneer in Texas and New Mexico electronic communication circles. Behind his back I used to call him, "Mr. Okey-doke", as he used that term quite frequently.
Our sincerest condolences to Mary, Brad, Charles, the Moran family and Ramar Employees.

Prayers for your family, Brad. Your dad had quite a legacy in this crazy business that we are in. Hugs from KWWT/KMDF TV in Odessa.

Ray is a good man. All the years that I have known him, he has been a quality person. Gloria and I have our hearts going out to Mary and the entire Moran family. He is with God and is in his rightful place

I am the same age as Ray who was an early and essential business community supporter of the South Plains Food Bank responsible for so much that we do-gooders couldn't accomplish. His noticed presence and followed counsel caused KCBD's competitive zeal to take over food drives. Ray didn't so much as exhibit a wry smile and I thought don't play poker with that man. Ray steered the SPFB in its first decade when it occasionally stumbled, then his son Brad came on the board and carried on a family legacy. Like thousands of others I admired him and am thankful for him.
