I was thinking about uncle who I hadn't talked to in a while and stumbled upon this obituary. It saddens my heart to learn that someone whom I held close in my heart has passed. Robert and I served together in the U.S. Army (Schweinfurt Germany), between 1964 and 1966. He was one of my closest compadre's. We were thick as thieves. I still have many photos of us during those years. I thank God that we were able to re-connect via phone and internet during the late 1900's. I always held thoughts one day being able to visit him in Lubbock. May he rest in Heaven. My prayers are with all of his family. I know how he loved all of his children and children's children. That was the core of our conversations as we compared our current lives. I encourage all the boys and men of the family to remember those many life lessons that "uncle" imparted to you as you strive to be real, responsible, caring, and God fearing brothers, father's, and uncles. Uncle Robert will always be remembered in my heart. Praying God's richest blessings on all of his family. Robert (Bob) Hatcher

Rest in peace Uncle Jr. You have earned your freedom wings. Your legacy will live on thru the MANY lives you have touched! I will forever cherish watching you interact with the children on the little league ball park and helping us teach and keep all kids in check! Prayers for your family, Lulu, you and Poppa stay strong! GOD BLESS ALL!
