CHARLES LEONARD Charles Howard "Chuck" Leonard, of Las Vegas, passed away April 13, 2013. Charles was born April 19, 1925, in French Lick, Ind., and was a 54-year resident of Las Vegas. As a young man, his family moved to Wisconsin. Charles enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at 17 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the war, he returned to Wisconsin and reunited with his high school sweetheart, Margaret Bender. They married in Santa Monica, Calif., in 1949. Charles retired from AM International in 1983 and began working as a salesman with Gill's Printing. He continued at Gill's, visiting his friends there and at Friendly Ford, once a week until his passing. Charles belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Sons of the American Revolution. His greatest joy was spending time with his "girls," many friends, gardening and woodworking. Charles and Margaret loved the time they spent at their cabin in Belmont, Nev. Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret; parents, Howard and Sophia Leonard; sisters, Clara Vaughn, Viva Kaiser, Helen Sera and Norma Gilliatt; and son, Brian Charles Leonard. He is survived by his daughters, Anne, Marcia and Catharine (John); grandson, Charles Harness; brothers, Hugh Leonard and Carl (Julia) Leonard; sisters, Christina McGlynn and Brenda (Bob) Wraley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He believed in making and completing a list every day and always gave a kind word wherever he could. Services are pending. Donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice (NAH.org) in Charles' name.

We are so sorry about your loss. Chuck was a wonderful person. I loved working with him and spending time with him and Margaret. The boys loved them and spending time with them was like being with their grandparents. He will be truly missed. Such a great husband, father and friend. And you three girls are wonderful because of the parents you had. Rest in peace Chuck.

Dear Catherine, Marcia and Anne,
I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing. I have such fond memories of the parties, dinners, etc. that we shared when Bob and I lived in Las Vegas. The best times ever! I'd like to think that Bob and your dad and mom are now having a great time reminiscing about our lives back then. :)
Love and prayers to you all,

Chuck will be missed by all of us that were lucky enough to be friends with his daughters. I will miss his insight of how to save money, buy cars, grow lemons and tomatoes and do woodwork. He was a wonderful example of a husband, father and man.
