Pauline--so sorry to hear of Harvey's passing. He was one of our leaders at the Crow's Nest at UT. He and I spent much time together at the Crow's Nest, and he was helpful to me in some of my engineering classes. He was a year ahead of me in the UT NROTC, but our paths never crossed while in the Navy. Great guy and great loss!
I remember then Lt Eikel from VS-33, 1960-62. He was well liked and respected by all the crew, and an excellent pilot. Sorry I couldn't have connected with him before he passed.
I only met , then LCDR Eikel, once on 30 August 1968. You see I was the Combat SAR air controller who directed all of the Search and Rescue aircraft that picked him up from deep inside North Vietnam and brought him back safelyonboard the USS Sterett (DLG-31) God bless you Captain. Master Chief Richard Allard
What a blessing he was to you and your family, Pauline, and I absolutely loved being around him when I'd pop over to work on silver with you. May he Rest In Peace, and may the good Lord bless you all.
We never met, but I know that if the lovely Pauline loved you as much as she does, you must have been one special man. Thank you for treating her so well ;) Rest in peace.
