Mr. and Mrs. Goforth, I am so saddened to hear of your loss. Herbie was a very unforgettable soul. I had the pleasure of instructing him at the lineman college and he made a lasting impression with his determination.

With deepest sympathy,
Mike Barnett

Life really is too short. I was just remembering how only a year ago I had the pleasure of catching up with Herbie and meet his beautiful fiance at my 10 year high school reunion.

Herbie and I had a special kinship, he was "true blue" with a "heart of gold". We always seemed to pick up right where we had left off, sharing stories about life and having a good laugh. He was one to make you feel comfortable... such a subtle yet a lively spirit, always so calm, cool, and collected. I remember having the best conversations with him in high school, life was tough, with the loss of my grandfather and as my father's illness progressed, Herbie just knew how to make me feel better by listening...he was very compassionate at such a young age. Funny, we always considered ourselves old souls, we attributed that to being born under the Libra sun (we were just a week a part in age).

A few days ago as I remembered our encounter at last years reunion, I wondered about Herbie with a smile and hoped to get the chance to catch up again...Ironically, I was just told today that the fallen hero mentioned on the news who I prayed for was the same person I knew as my sweet friend Herbie. Chills too shocked to surface the skin.
My deepest condolences to his family, especially to his mother, father, and fiance. An angel not only watches over you, but is with you.

9/24 is the day I celebrate a special angel, my father...and now on 9/25 I will celebrate the memory of another vibrant angel, Herbie.

As you are seated at the right hand of the Father, peace be with you my friend!

Bless

Dear Herb & Rosa,
My heart is broken for you both. I know there are no words that could ease your pain but my prayer is that you will find comfort in the happy times and memories you shared with Herbie and the knowledge that one day you will be reunited with him. I have fond memories of all of our boys playing together in the cul-de-sac. We were like one big family. We miss you and we are praying for you.

Sorry to hear about Herbie passing away so young. I will remember him giving it his all, as a member of the Spartan wrestling team. You will be missed. RIP
