JOHN BENNETT

Johnny, You will be and are missed by many. I love you and will always have you in my heart. You are a great man that I looked up to while I was growing up. I miss you cousin and know you are in a better place with a lot of our loved ones. Rest in peace.

Wow... I had no idea John and Marilyn had passed! What a shock as I reflect back on all the history we shared so many years ago. As I remember, I was dating Marilyn's best friend when I first met her older sister, whom quickly proceeded to steal me away from said friend (would have liked to been a fly on the wall during that one). And from that point on John and Marilyn (along with Wendell and Sam) became a part of my family for the next 4 or 5 years.

John had such a sweet and warm presence about him and was interested in many things. And amongst those diverse interests... I remember giving him a motor cycle to fix up in which he enthusiastically came by my house and picked up every piece and part to be had. He was always there for his family and specifically his big sister and Sam, as I recall. The last time I saw John was at an auto dealership where he was working in the parts department. John had grown into a fine young MAN at that time, and I remember being proud to know him.

Additionally, we almost named our middle daughter after he and his father. When she came into our lives on January 15, 1999, my wife and I considered Ashton for her name... but then decided on Ashlyn because it seemed a little too masculine. And we were right, because John Ashton Bennett is a name for a man with stature, presence, and a kind heart... and John most definitely qualified for all three!

I don't know what more to say except life is very short, and the snapshots in time we share with one another are very precious. We never know when the roles cast on the stage of our lives will become vacant, never to be filled again. Hence... live now... love now... and feel in your hearts the warmth and presence that life had to share from John and Marilyn, for time unites us ALL much too quickly.

God Bless John and Marilyn, and ALL those who love and carry them in their hearts... until we all meet again!

Hi Stacey,
I'm sure you are very sad right now but hang in there and focus on remembering John's life not his death!
In our life we only get a handful of people that tell us they love us and truly mean it!
I am sorry you have lost one of your special people!
God must have taken John to heaven early because he had already proven his worthiness!
That is a true blessing!
