Dear Malena,
We have been here a few days and noticed right away that Steve's outside chair was missing...and something just wasn't 'right'. Then yesterday, we learned that he passed away a few days after we left in June! We are stunned and extremely saddened with the news. We miss his smile and friendliness and hearing the wonderful deep tones of his voice. He always had such a loving and proud smile when he spoke of you and the kids, and from what we have read, he led such an interesting and fulfilling life.
Our very deepest condolences to you and your family.

First my condolences to Malena, Christian, Joan, Mike and Steven, you are a wonderful family who took me in when I was a lost 19 year old, and you loved me because Christian loved me. Mr. Burnett always commanded a room and respect, and yet was the kindest soul. I loved him for that. I am so sorry that I didn't know he had passed, I had just spoken with Christian 2 weeks earlier, and I completely understand he and the rest of you were lost in your grief. Mr. Burnett is irreplaceable but he left his legacy in all of you. I feel honored for knowing him and I know he is with Malena and all of his kids to help them get through. Malena and Stephen reminded me of 2 lovebirds, together for life. Devoted. You are all in my prayers and have my deepest sympathies. I love you.

To Steve with love! already a month! and yet you will always be tighten up to all the ones you loved! Thanks dear Steve, now you know what means to be near God!

This first month without you I've been remembering the great memories of our life together....they brough me smiles and tears of joy and sadness. But I hold on to all of them dearly and miss you more each day.
