Jimmy Newman is the epitome of what a Las Vegas Casino Boss should and could be. He was intimately familiar with all aspects of gaming and gaming management. He was pure class with players and employees alike. I was fortunate to have worked with JN during the heyday of the "Elvis years" at the Las Vegas Hilton. Jimmy, you will be missed by so many. Thank You Very Much for all you taught me. RMA

My Prayers go out to the Newman family for the great loss of a wonderful man. I know he will be greatly missed. Talked with him many times at Hilton private parties when Barry was working there. Bless you all.

I got lucky back in Sept. 1974. I applied for a job as a Baccarat Dealer. Mr. Bucky Howard, Baccarat Manager, took me to Jimmy's office and introduced me to him and told him he would like to hire me. Jimmy smiled and said, "Welcome to the Hilton." Through the years, I've gotten to know him at work, the golf course, and through my friend, Tommy Watkins, I met his sister, Louise, and from work, I met his brother, John. Jimmy was always friendly and generous. He sometimes let me use his tickets for the Rebel games. I've been missing him since he left the Hilton. My daughter, Marcela, worked with his wife, Bunny, as her secretary. Rest in peace, Jimmy. You were the best! Thank you again for the 3 golf bags and clubs you gave me...I still have them.

My dad always talked highly of him, and my mom still has a giant oriental picture he gave her hanging in the living room. William B. Gilbride Jr.
