I met Jimmy in 1971. I walked into his office and said I want to meet Elvis. He said Elvis who? We in the room all laughed and he gave me some instructions on how to find my way to Elvis via the kitchen if I remember correctly! I was stopped a couple of times but was let through. Elvis came off an elevator and went to his small dressing room. To make a long story short, I did get to meet Elvis and went back and told Jimmy thank you. He just smiled at me and I went my merry way. Thanks Jimmy! You were a wonderful soul!!! Hope to see you again someday! Casey Jones

Mr. Newman was an inspiration to me and hired me in 1989-1990 when I fresh to Vegas. It led me today to CBS Sports, due to the inspiration of Jimmy, Lisa Miller and Lee Skelley. Absolutely the greatest time to be a member of the LV Hilton. -Rich Perez

Mr. Newman hired me to work as a dice dealer at the LV Hilton in the early 1970's. I was very young and inexperienced but "The Boss" saw something in me, I guess, and he gave me a shot. I can say without question that he did more to positively influence my life than any other person. He showed me the way, and was always available to listen. There is only one Jimmy Newman. I could never repay him during his life, not that he would want me to, but I can cherish the privilege I had to work for him and to enjoy his "best personal regards". Forever in your debt...clear skies and happy landings.
