John was a great guy. I had come to know him from his work with Sam Boyd. Along with Sam, John helped develop the massive Hawaii market at The Cal. In Hawaii he was treated like family, because he was family. So many memories...The Mahalo Parties, Cases of Coors Beer, Sticky Rice, The Hari Kojima Fishing Tourneys were all John. We miss you our brother, you knew the Aloha Spirit and lived it everyday. Mahalo and until we meet again. Aloha Oe!

I was saddened to see that John had passed away. I also worked for Boyd Gaming in the 70's and 80's. John was a really GREAT GUY! Funny, friendly and had the real ALOHA spirit. See you in Heaven friend. My prayers and thoughts to his family. God bless you and Mahlao for your kindness to me at Boyd Gaming.

John was like a brother, we grew up together. When I got word of his passing I did not want to believe he was gone! John and I worked together at the Eldorado club as busboys through high school. I remember one day while at work, we were horseing around and John threw an egg at me, I ducked and Mr. Sam Boyd just came through the door and the egg splattered all over Mr. Boyd!I thought that was it for us! Mr. Boyd said;"Don't you boys got work to do?? We said; "Yes Sir!! and got right back to work!! John and I played guitars together and started a band!! I have lots of stories and memories!! My condolances to the family!!

Lea and Stacey,
My heart and love go out to you in the loss of your Dad. He was a funny man, and my memory is long spending so much time at your house growing up. I always remember him listening to the radio while working on stuff in the garage!
Much love to you now, and always. <3
