Ruth Abreu Obituary

RUTH ABREU Ruth Ann Abreu, 72, a medical radiology transcriber, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011. She was born Jan. 25, 1939, in Michigan, and was a 35-year resident of Nevada. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Maria Passarge of North Las Vegas. No services are scheduled.

I hope you know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. I worked at UMC with Ruth. I have fond memories of her.

If this is the Ruth Abreu that I am remembering correctly, she was my Sunday school teacher at Christ Lutheran Church in the late 1970's or early 1980's. She left quite an impression on me, very witty and honest, which is something a pre-teen/early teenager is desperately seeking. Ruth was one of my favorite Sunday school teachers! Today I am a Sunday school teacher, and I often think of her and try to wonder what she would do in the situation.
