I will miss you old friend. As we entered the DLA intern program together as the only engineering interns in a class of 40 we stuck together from the start. You at DCAS Detroit and I at Williams Int. It was you who made sure we attended all our classes together and I rode your tails for three wonderful years. What happens on TDY will always stay on TDY but those were fun times. Again, it was you who knew about the Army TACOM interviews and notified me to get a resume together and join you at TACOM. As we worked there we sort of drifted apart building our respective careers but occasionally we would meet and greet and do lunch and chase baseball cards. As we both retired, we again found a way to remain friends, in our Wed 1000 Breakfast “Better be there on time and get that kitchen pass” at Rosann's with friends. I attended a couple of golf outings you magistrated in Hart,Mi and of course they were fun full days...what happens in Hart stays in Hart. The Crab feasts at your home were delicious with more good friends.
At the time I thought my knee injury in mid Aug had only kept me from finishing the golf season, unable to assist you when you called in late Aug, but it kept me from learning of your latest health concerns and being there at your sendoff. I will miss you good friend and true American...”not a AINO” (American in name only!) as you would say.
“What's the reason, the grapes are in season,
What's the price, 20 twice,
What's the action, ....satisfaction!”
My heartfelt condolences go out to Marlene, Darlene and family.

Was sorry to hear, just found out. My condolences to the family. Had good times with Stan. Golfed with him for years and we also did the annual trip to Hilton Head for years. Fun to be with no matter the score. Jerry, Bobby and now you. Rest in peace my friend... Miss you all.

Stan--such a wonderful, giving person. When we were in Michigan, you were always doing good deeds. All I can do is smile as I remember you sauntering into our home in Mt. Clemens. You will be in our hearts forever. Hugs, Kay Post

Your memorial gathering brought many people together. Old and new friends, many friends of mine who knew you, and so many others whose lives you touched. I am sure your spirit was there as we all shared stories and rememberances. You would have been very proud of your daughter as she handled all of the preparations. With military honors we laid you to rest. Until we meet again. Love and memories. "M"

Stan, although we never met, I feel I know you. On my desk I have a the glass football with interlocking "SC" from my alma mater USC that you made for me, through Marlene's request, my wife's cousin. After reading the messages from your friends, you have a halo above your head. You must have been a real "hero" yourself. I'm sure God has fashioned a glass sail boat especially for you in heaven'

On behalf of the Harrison Township Fire Department I would like to express my condolences. Stan was not only a friend to our department but to all fire fighters and police officers. We will miss Stan's visits to the fire station and will always appreciate his support through the years. His sailboats that decorate our stations will always remind us of him.

I had just gotten to know Stan in the last few years through Marlene. He was quite unique! He was so very good to all of us in SC. We will all miss your calls to Marlene. Rest in peace, Stan.

“I Gotta Go.”

Stan Reed was more than just a good man. He was kind and giving even though he often tried to hide it with a blustering way. He could rant and rave with fake and sometimes real indignation. But behind it all was an impish glee in stirring the pot.

He would call you to tell you a joke he'd told you before but really just to let you know you were in his thoughts. If you called him he would sometimes cut you off with an, “I Gotta Go,” without any explanation. But that was Stan.

He'd invite you to his crab feast, encourage you to take more and then chide you when you did. All the while trying to disguise a grin.

Without him the Hart golf outing would still be just a fishing trip for a few guys. He and Bill turned it into an event that the attendees eagerly await every year. Stan's door was always open whether at Hart or at home and he will be sorely missed.

I guess after all is said and done, he just had to go.

Mr. Reed was a true Angel who found so much joy in other's happiness. I truly miss him stopping by to say hi and tell me about his new projects like the chairs he recently helped coordinate the purchasing of for the vets. He left a mark in many hearts on this earth.

I pray he was comfortable. His generosity provided Action Track Chairs to two deserving veterans. His "sloops" adorn the living areas of hundred of people he had never met but cared so much for. I am blessed and honored to have known him. Rest in peace, my friend!
