Just learned of Dean Williams passing from another Haverford alum. I took his Constitutional Law class at Haverford and it was one of my favorite classes there. He was an inspirational teacher - very intimidating to me because he was so accomplished and so insightful in making and dissecting arguments, but he was warm and encouraging as well. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Just learned of Al's passing in the "In Memoriam" note of the Haverford College Lawyers' Network Newsletter. I attended Haverford from 1981-1985 and to this young kid (only 16) from Puerto Rico who was away from home for the first time in her life and soooo excited with everything that was unfolding before her impressionable eyes. Al became a mentor, an inspiring "father figure", the coolest prof (and he had tough competition) who gave me my first lesson on the history and importance of civil rights. He would be proud of what I have done with his lessons. I am. To his daughters: Al's spirit transcends his mortality and will continue living in each student he truly touched. Un abrazo. Al, hasta siempre!

To the Williams family: My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
