Monroe was my mechanic for many years, first when I was a young, struggling faculty member at Mercer, when he ran the station across the street from the university. After he sold the station, for years I drove miles to his home to have him service my car. He was always modest, good-humored, fair, & kind. He used to offer me peanuts he had harvested from his own fields. I hated to have to find another place to have my mechanic work done. He was a stalwart man of hard work, plain talk, & a warm heart.

We would like for the family to know, we loved Monroe and Ms. Ruby very much. They along with Mary would go all over with us to sing at Music Barns, get togethers, etc. great people to have known. He is at peace with his loved ones who have gone home before him...May GOD bless the family.

My life was truly blessed to have Monroe as my Daddys best friend, my Mamas dear husband, a great grand daddy "poppa" that my grand children adored and last but not least...a man who stood for great values and integrity who always taught me to love everyone. Sure you are enjoying a better place. Love you

Although Monroe was a man of few words, his words will be missed. My children will always cherish the patience that was shown to them while helping them fish, and the excitement displayed when they colored you a picture. A man of simple and good things. I am certain that Monroe is receiving all of the blessings that our Heavenly Father has to offer him in eternity. We will see you on the other side. With Love-The Beasley Family

I Would like to say thank you to everyone who came to honor my Granddaddy's life today. I am at peace to know he is up in heaven with Jesus and my grandmama, Ruby Burgess. We will miss you Grandaddy.
Love always,
Melissa (Missy) Rowe Hutson
