Macon , GA- Elmira S. Deal, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will meet friends on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Cindy Mittuch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, 277 MLK Jr. Blvd., W, Suite 101, Macon GA 31201.
Mrs. Deal was born in Washington, County to the late Samuel L. and Mattie W. Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Eugene Deal and her son, Lewis Eugene Deal, sister and brother-in-law, Mabel (Mark) Deal. Mrs. Deal was a member of Vineville Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the PTA and was the first woman asked to serve on the Bibb County Board of Education. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Deena A. Deal of Macon, son, James A. (Stephanie) Deal of Atlanta, two grandchildren, James Allen (Shelle) Deal, Jr. and Kenneth Alexander Deal both of Atlanta, special first cousin, Mary (Lamar)Beasley, very special nieces and nephews, Dwaine E. Deal, Mabel Elaine Deal and Kenneth L. Deal and many others.
