Jackson, GA- Margaret Malcom Adams, age 98, of Jackson died Wednesday October 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born February 23, 1915 in Walton County, daughter of the late William and Ida Rogers Malcom. She received her education in Walton County, after high school, she attended the Monroe Commercial School and was employed with the United States Civil Service Commission in Washington, DC. She was predeased by her husband of 62 years Rufus Adams, who died in January 2004. She was a homemaker and member of the Jackson United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Ben Garland, of Macon, GA , Anne and Sandy Atkinson, of Granite Falls, WA; five grandchildren, Ben Garland and Sarah of Decatur, GA, Jim Garland and Sophie of Thomasville, GA, Beth Tucker and Kent of Atlanta, GA, Kevin Atkinson and Sandy of San Diego, CA, Craig Atkinson and Rachel of Minneapolis, MN, six great grandchildren, Ben and Maggie Tucker, Josephine and Benjamin Garland III, Pierce and Louie Garland. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
The family wishes to thank the compassionate and faithful caregivers Sarah Allen, Martha Douglas, Contensial Head, and Bernice Myricks, Vanika Strickland, Josephine Upshaw, Carrie White, Lillie Williams, and Carolyn Ward for their loving care.
Funeral Services for Margaret Malcom Adams will be Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Jackson United Methodist Church. Dr. Phil DeMore and Dr. John Brantley will officiate. Interment will be in the Jackson City Cemetery.
