Margaret Hiett Whitus
June 7, 1944 - February 28, 2014
Milledgeville, GA- Margaret Hiett Whitus age 69 passed away Friday, February 28, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 5, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitus was born in Tampa, FL and grew up in Macon where she graduated from Miller High School. After her marriage she moved to El Paso, TX where she made her home for 45 years and worked for the Athletic Department at the University of Texas at El Paso, where she was known as "Mom". She was a member of the Coronado Baptist Church in El Paso, TX.
Survivors include her husband J.B. Whitus, two children Greg Whitus of Lyon, France, and Lela Anne Whitus of Ft. Worth, TX, her mother Peggy Hiett of Milledgeville, two brothers, Warren Hiett of Macon and William R. Hiett of Covington, four grandchildren: Kaleb Godwin and Kaitlynn Godwin, Lori Whitus and Lindsey Whitus.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at Moores Funeral Home.
