Marie Boothe Abney -COCHRAN - Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Boothe Abney, 90, of Cochran, who died Friday, April 22, 2011 in Griffin, will be held at 1P.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Elder Franklin Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Dublin Memorial Gardens. -Mrs. Abney was born in Bleckley County, the daughter of the late Eugene William Nobles, Sr. and Mamie Lee Heath Nobles. She was the widow of Arthur Franklin Booth, Sr. and James Abney. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a retired curriculum director of the City of Dublin School System and taught in the Twiggs County School System, City of Cochran System and Bleckley County School System. She was a graduate of the Georgia State College for Women, Georgia State College and the University of Georgia. -Survivors include two sons, James Earl Boothe of Danville and Arthur Frank Boothe of Griffin; granddaughter, Angela Marie Boothe of Athens; brothers, Harold L. Nobles of Columbia, SC and Elder Rubert Nobles of Danville; sisters, Mary Celeste Nobles of Montgomery, Alabama and Emma Jean Lovato of Cochran. -The family will meet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. -Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
