Like so many other journalists around the country, I am grateful to Paul for his teaching, which I can only describe as kind. I attributed this to the fact that he's from Iowa, but since this is also my home state, that can't be the full explanation. I think the journalism gods gave him to us because we needed him so much. We are so sorry for the loss of your brother and uncle. We are deeply saddened and have been praying for your family in this time of loss. He was truly an inspiring man who touched so many lives. I read this in all the stories about how he inspired and helped his colleagues and students. We are so sorry the world has lost such a wonderful teacher and friend to many, and Pohlman cousin. We are thinking of all of his family. He is now at peace and re-united with his parents and family.
