SSgt Thomas "Pops" Herren, USAF (Ret)

Perry, GA- Thomas "Pops" Herren, 78, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
Thomas was born on September 2, 1934 in Ben Hill, Georgia to the late Thomas and Ethel Lee Herren. With pride, honor, courage, and commitment, SSgt Herren proudly served his country in the United States Air Force; and was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, retiring after thirty five years of dedicated service. Subsequent to his distinguished military career, he retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and from the Houston County Sheriff's Department where he worked as a Deputy Sheriff. "Pops" was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, garden, work in the yard, and spend time with his family. He was a man of strong character and integrity, a legacy his family is proud to carry on.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fifty eight years, Cecilia Aaron Herren, Perry; children and their spouses, Thomas Lee Herren (Jeanna), Snellville; Phillip Keith Herren (Rosanna), Dalton; Patricia Leigh Herren-Harper (Andy), Byron; and Michael Wade Herren (Kim), Kathleen; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Booger Bear.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 14, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside Services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 in Andersonville National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
