SSGT Tom Satterfield, US Army (Ret)

Fort Valley, GA- Tom Satterfield, 57, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
Tom was born on May 3, 1956 in Fairmont, West Virginia. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant and taught at Flint River Technical College. Tom was a much-loved member of the VFW and American Legion and loved music. His wife, Pam Blankenship Satterfield; and parents, Thomas O. and Rose Marie Shuman Satterfield, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Jason Satterfield of Fairmont, West Virginia, Christopher Satterfield of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Brittany Satterfield of Nashville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Marlei Satterfield; siblings, Rose Kay Carpenter (Terry) of Fairmont, West Virginia, Sam Satterfield of Warner Robins, Georgia and Michelle Leroy of Bridgeport, West Virginia; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at a later date in Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or Humane Society of Houston County, Inc., 810 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, GA 31028.
