He was my boyhood idol and still is. What a wonderful man, a truly outstanding human being.

To the Musial Family,
It is with great sorrow that I express my sincere condolences to you with the passing of Mr. Musial.
As a young boy growing up in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, I played Little League baseball for four years. For two of those years I played on the Cardinals, and my favorite player was Mr. Musial, along with Ted Williams. Not that many years ago, I wrote Mr. Musial a letter, and to my surprise, I sent me an autograph photo, which is displayed proudly in my den. In each photo I see of Mr. Musial he is always smiling, a warm smile and sincere. Mr. Musial will live for always, good men always do. May God be with you and God Bless Mr. Musial.

Dear Stanley F. Musial Family:

Our sincere and deepest sympathy with the loss of your beloved Stan. We hope the sweet memories of your beloved Stan will always be comforting to you and your family. We know that someone so special and talented (Stan) will never be forgotten, and the happiest of times that you all shared with Stan will always be remembered.

There really are no words to soothe the loss that all of you are feeling so deeply for Stan. May it comfort all of you to remember that Stan has left the very best of himself behind ....."all of you".

"The world has lost another wonderful person". May God hold Stan in the palm of his hand and give him peace and eternal rest.

Our Mother Ann Petrus DeBerardinis attended school with Stan at the Donora High School and always spoke fondly of him. She always spoke of him being so kind, a good person, handsome, and being so talented in playing baseball.

We will never forget Stan and all the years that he played baseball and that he never forgot Donora, Pennsylvania. Each time that we ride over the "The Stanley F. Musial Bridge" in Donora we will think of him. Thanks for the wonderful memories "Stan the Man".

Take care and you all are in our thoughts and prayers during this very sad time for you and your family.

With our sincere and deepest sympathy,
DeBerardinis Family, Donora, PA

A true man.

As a child growing up in Southern Indiana and having family in St. Louis, it was great to travel to the old Sportsmans Park to watch Stan The Man play. Some of my fondest memories of baseball--and to this day, I am a HUGE Cardinals fan--include seeing Stan hit home runs from that left-handed corkscrew stance at home plate. He will be missed.

I had the pleasure to meet Stan Musial on a cruise back in January of 1986. He was a wonderful storyteller and a very nice man. He was also one of the best baseball players in the history of the game. Rest in peace, Stan-you always will be The Man.

We knew him and we loved him. Stan is still the best there is.

So long Stand...

Durring my baseball days I tried to duplicate his corkscrew batting stance. I was told many times that I was no Stan Musial. He is my hero and i'm 81 years old. I have his autograft ball that I cherish.
