It has been 5 years, yet the memory and the loss of you and the others that left us far too soon does not diminish. We planted an apple tree, "Summer Red" in your memory. Each year it grows taller and stronger, the apples larger more delicious. Caleb Thank You for the honor of knowing you, even if it was such a short time. We still miss you!

Caleb is a beautiful spirit. I have never seen anyone else transform as much as he did: from child king to track star; from wanderer to warrior.
A most generous soul. He became our teacher, our guide and protector. He runs far ahead of us now with strong brow and wry smile.
The name Caleb means Heart. So very true.
Caleb, please say hello to our lost friends on the other worlds.
See you in the bardo brother...

The picture shows Caleb with his brother Jason, sister Colleen, and mother Catherine on Catherine's 50th birthday in 2006.

To the families and loved ones of Matt, Bryan, Scott, Edrik, Shawn, Caleb, Jim and Roark;

As we have each learned, there are no words that can adequately express either the depth of our sorrow or the comfort we wish to bring. But because of the brotherhood that our loved ones formed, because of the circumstance of their deaths, and because of our shared grief, we will forever be bound.

As we walk through this long valley of tears, you are all in my heart and thoughts and prayers. May God, in all His goodness, give us courage and strength and brings us to peace. He is surrounding us with His loving arms, until the day we can again embrace the one we love.

Sally Steele,
David's grandmother

I never got to know you, but I am sure that we worked the line together somewhere. May your family be strong and cherish your memories forever.

Catherine
as one mother to another who has lost a son, i know there are no words to console you and your family. Times ahead will be hard but you are strong, and one of the many things i keep thinking is I know my son Eric is in heaven and i don't have to worry anymore about him. We have been taught "we are all children of God" and God gave us these children and He decides when their time on earth is done. Hopefully your faith will sustain you thru this most difficult time. This sorrow becomes part of you and a chapter in your life. You will laugh again and i hope you will be able to find comfort in knowing God is GOOD.
and Caleb is happy and "ok"
