Phyllis and I were deeply saddened to hear of Ken's passing. He was an incredibly talented engineer and liked by all.
I remember riding out to an off-shore oil platform in a helicopter with Ken to visit one the receiving stations he implemented that comprised the first Gulf of Mexico demonstration of ADS-B, providing a real-time display of helicopter traffic in the FAA Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center. That he designed, built and deployed this complex system in about five months was extraordinary and in the best traditions of the kind of work done at MIT Lincoln Laboratory for our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are for Julie and his family.
