Todd Hannes Obituary
RAYMOND - Todd Hannes, 52, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at his home, the result of a medical issue. He was born in Boston, Mass. a son of Herbert and Elizabeth Hannes. Todd was a very passionate, loving and colorful individual who lived and loved life to its fullest. He was a people person full of fun, laughter, and enjoyed boating, hiking and travelling. Todd was always willing to help anyone in need and would drop everything to be there to help.
Todd fell in love with Maine and Sebago Lake many years ago where he could always be found with his friends, family and of course the "Love of his life, his 10 year old daughter Hannah." He gave his daughter the gift of loving all animals, large and small. Todd and his daughter Hannah were inseparable. A few of her favorite thoughts of them together were fishing and building snowmen.
He is predeceased by his by his parents; and his sister Bretta. Surviving are his daughter Hannah; his life partner Ellen Paradis; his ex-wife Heidi Stiles; his sister Pamela and her husband Mark Laughlin, his brother Paul Hannes; his aunt Gertrude Bader; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no formal funeral service. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Rd. Casco.

Ten years ago today our world changed forever. Hannah was 10 just a little girl, a daddy´s girl. Now a 20 year old beautiful, intelligent young woman. She points out you have been gone half her life. Such a sad reality. It never gets easier. Still
such a void in our life and a hole in our heart that will never be filled. We continue to honor you and will always remember you and your beautiful soul. In our hearts forever and ever and we love you to the moon and back. Until we are all together again.

Another holiday season, anniversary and birthday celebrated in the silence of your absence. Now spring time, always so tough knowing how busy we would always be, getting the yard perfect, planting and getting the boat ready for another season on the lake. Im convinced now after 8 years, the pain of missing you and the longing to see you and hear your voice, if even for just one last time, will never end.
On a happier note, Hannah continues to excel. Finished up her first your of college at Unity, and of course, on the deans list. I think she is constantly and forever driven by her desire to make you proud. I tell her every day how proud u would be and that you are always watching over her.

We celebrated Hannahs birthday today. Can you believe our little girl is 18 and going to college! Just as we always knew since she was 3 years old - shes going to be studying animal science and behavior and a second major in marine biology. The love and respect you shared with her at such a young age stuck with her and now she is going to make it her lifes work. I am so incredibly proud of her and I know you are too! She graduated hs with Highest Honors -4.0 gpa. She is so intelligent and dedicated to her studies, very serious. Everything she does she hopes it would make you proud. Ofcourse I tell her it would! Every birthday celebrated without you is just a reminder of how long you have been gone and how much i still miss u, but I know you are still here with us. I feel you here sometimes and I can smell you. I know you are still watching over us and keeping us safe. Our little girl is turning into an incredible young woman - you would be so very impressed! Here We are again, another year passed without you here to share the joy of watching Hannah grow into the most amazing human. More firsts: Her first heartbreak (other than losing you), her first car - she bought herself- she asked if I thought you would like it and be proud of her - I tell her absolutely daddy would be proud of her. - she bought a 1995 ford mustang covertible, baby blue with only 52k miles with her own money she earned and saved from hostessing. She said she always wanted one since we rented the mustang when we went to Vero Beach to visit Donny and Gail. She said she loved that trip and remebers the fun we had driving around florida with the top down. Inthink she was 3 but still remembers. She is such a hard worker - she gets her work ethic from you! Loves to work hard and earn her own money. She is so responsible with her $. Saves 50 percent if her weekly check. Shes on the honor roll again this year. Shes so intelligent and self motivated. We are looking at colleges now. Can you believe it??!! shes torn between some typenif biology degree working with the study of animals for her love of animals or writing fir her passion of writing. She is an incredible writer. She has written poems and short stories since she was very young and her teacher thinks she could actually have some of her stuff published! Her writings amaze me. Its like im reading from a book that has been written by someone so much older. Shes so thoughtful, deep and intelligent in her writing. She amazes me every day with her kindness to others. Shes doing angreat job wjth her diabetes and taking care of herself. Shengoes to the guym 3-4 times a week because shes knows the importance of staying healthy. I pray everyday that they will find a cure for this hideous diseasenthat took you from us way too soon. We sold our beautiful home on Forest Rd. I kept it as ling as I could and until Hannah was ok with selling. It was tough for both of us but also nice to be in a smaller home where we arent haunted by the silence ofnyou not being there with us. Easier to maintain by myself too. Thenother house was just too big and hard to maintain witbout you. I hope youre proud if us and our decision. You would like the new place. A cozy log cabin - still near the lake - younknow i could never give that up! Although i dont get the same joy from Sebago as indid when you were here. Nothing isnthe same! But boy did we make some good memories out there - enough to last a lifetime! Not surenif she will stay in state or out of state. Thinking NC if she goesmout of state. I tell her thats perfect. I can retire there whill she goesnto college there. Ofcourse she rolls her eyes. I cant imagine notnseeing her everyday. We have become best friends although i make it clear im mom first. We love soending time together. Just talking or watching movies. We finally made it to aruba in Nov. i swear you were with us the whole time. I felt you with us - so many memories there and i tried take Hannah around to all of our spots and tell her about all the fun we had on our trips. It wasnt the same without you. I do nt think ill return. We lost Jami Dec 2020 and Tom in july last year. I prayed that you were there to meet them. They both suffered so horribly with cancer. It broke my heart tonsee them suffer like that. Inhave to believe theyre in a better place! I miss you so much Todd. Please give me a sign youre here still watching over and protecting Hannah and me. I get scared that if anything happens to me she will be all alone in this world. I cant bear thenthought of that Cant believe youneould be turning 60 next month. Inknow you would still be beautiful! Almost six years since that cold miserable Jan night you left us. There are days when I’m still in disbelief and waiting for my phone to ring and hear your voice on the other end. Time has passed but the pain of you leaving us has not. Hannah is 16 now and just got her license. Can you believe it! I hope more than ever now that you are her angel and always watching over and protecting her. She’s doing amazing but still haunted by the loss of her daddy. So many milestones that you missed, even though I know you were there in spirit. High school, her first boyfriend, her first dance, learning to drive, getting her first job. All of it is bitter sweet since you’re not here to share it with. I’m glad you’re not around to see everything going on in this world. You would hate it. I can’t believe you would be 59 next month. Hannah is now 14, a freshman in high school. She is an incredible person. So many traits of yours. Her loyalty, her quiet way of observing people before letting them in, selectively choosing who to trust, her stubborn nature, fighting for what she believes in, her sense of humor, her clever intelligence, her incredible beauty inside and out. She is also very wise for her age, and old soul, I say. She now is curious and asks so many questions about our love story and I am always excited to share all the details of how we met and how much she was loved by her daddy. Another summer without you coming to an end. I can hear you now saying "winters coming, let's book our Aruba trip!". Hannah just turned 13 and started the eighth grade. She has grown so much since U left us. She is a beautiful. Kind, witty, and intelligent young lady now. So mature and wise for her age. She reminds me more and more of you every day. So deep in her thoughts. She spends hours a week maintaining the fish tank just the way you taught her. She takes great pride in this. Especially loves it when I tell her she's just like her daddy. I always enjoyed seeing him during the summer at the beach...I loved how he always kept a look out for my parents - It was so comforting to know he was there. Our deepest sympathies to all of Todd ' s family he will be missed and left a mark on many many lives through out his very short life. You never new where he might show up. I met Todd in the late.80's and mostly knew him when his was married to Maria. We all have some great memories of Todd and his antics. The first year my boat was in his marina I was left a widow w/a boat I had no idea how to operate. Todd always made sure at the end of the weekend when we were all coming back to the marina that I got back safely and.if he couldn't see me coming he would come back out to have me follow him in and would be there to catch me at the dock and grab my lines. May not have been a big deal for him but to me he was a life saver:) No one could warm up the " oil" llike him. I have a million other memories as he was one of the happiest and social people I had ever met. Over the last 10 years we did not see him much but am glad to hear he was a good dad as Hannah is going to have to savor those memories for the rest of her life. You will be missed buddy. So shocked and sad to hear of Todd's passing. I always remember Todd coming into the racquetball club with that infectious smile and friendly demeanor. Everyone there enjoyed being around him. He was so sincere. Words cannot describe how deeply sad I am by Todd's passing. We were just talking on the phone last Friday and catching up on our lives. I know that he cherished his daughter Hannah - and loved her so very much. Sent me a photo of them at Raymond Beach - her ice skating with a stool....he was one of the kindest, most loving people I have ever had the privilege of knowing - I am so very thankful that he was in my life 30 years ago...and we were able to reconnect again before his passing. Prayers sent out for his family - he will TRULY be missed.

I saw Todd just a few short weeks ago when I was in Maine. He was his usual jovial self and we had a nice chat. Over the years that we boated together on the lake when my children were young he bailed me out of mechanical difficulties numerous times. BJ, kristi, and Chad thought he was "McGiver" and loved jumping on his boat because it and he were "cool". In BJ's later years Todd showed him how to winterize boats.
