My deepest sympathies for your loss of a son, brother, & father.
I went to grade school (Chedoke) & highschool (MacNab) with Mark & his big presence was always followed by his big smile. May his young daughter know that her Daddy is always watching over her.

He loves his country best who strives to make it best." ~Robert G. Ingersoll
To my niece Jenn, and to Dan and to your parents and family: my heart grieves for the loss of your brother and son who was a sterling example of what everything Canada is and stands for. This he modelled as a statesman - a true "diplomat", both as an Olympian and as a "soldier's soldier". More importantly, however, he was all this and more as your son, your brother. May you know how very much I am praying for you these days and as time passes, that you will experience "the peace that passes all understanding" (Philippians 4). Pro Patria

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mark face to face, it is obvious the impact he had on this world and myself, through my best friend, Sara. Mark was truly an angel here on Earth and now in Heaven. I got the opportunity and the pleasure of witnessing and sharing the lasting and amazing impact he had on Sara. I am truly thankful that they were blessed with each other and I know he will continue to watch over her. My deepest condolences go out to the Graham family and to Sara. Rest In Peace, Mark

What can I say except we have lost our friend, our teammate, a great person and a hero to our country. below is a poem I wrote last night after finding out about Mark.

MARK GRAHAM

He was our friend, our teammate, a hero to us all
He represented our country at the Olympics, and also answered the army’s call.
He had hopes and dreams that he set out to achieve
But on September 4th it came to an end for it was not meant to be.

The tears pour from our eyes, the news of his death tore us apart
He was a man of honor, a man of pride, who shall always live within our hearts.
I am lost for words as I stare blankly at the moon
He was taken from us to early, a life that ended much to soon.

I know he’s in a better place for it was heaven that called his name
His friends and his country mourn his loss and we’ll never be the same.
He was our friend, our teammate, a hero to us all
Let us never forgot that this brave soldier answered our country’s call.

Please accept our sympathies during this difficult time. The memory of his charismatic personality and his humourous nature will not be forgotten. We send our thoughts and prayers to the Graham family.

On behalf of my wife, our daughter and myself, may the family of this courageous soldier accept our condolences for their loss and our appreciation for any Canadian that makes the ultimate sacrifice in the name of bringing peace to the world.

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mark. I went to high school with him and remember him fondly. He was always kind to everyone he met. I remember pictures of him plastered all over my brothers bedroom as they were on the track team together and my brother had taken many pictures of him. God bless you in your time of need. Remembering you always Mark.
