Although I did not know Mrs. Baker-Black personally, I appreciate what her life meant to so many and as a member of the Association of Baptist in Scouting I appreciation what she meant to many boys and their families through her work in Scouting and ABS.

Mary Ellen was the most inspirational person I've ever know. Her Love for God was shown in her every day life. I will miss her but know I will see her smiling face again it Heaven and look forward to that day. God bless those that are missing her as much as I do but have comfort in knowing we will meet again soon in Glory! :-)

I have never met Mary Ellen but realize that she is my sister in God. As a former board member and staff of PRAY, an advocate of Religious Emblems, a life time Scouter, a board member of the Assn. of Baptists for Scouting we were twins in heart. The youth of this country are blessed by the work this beautiful lady has done and she will live on thru them. My condolences to the family.

The full impact of Mary Ellen's life will not be known this side of heaven. She gave so unselfishly of herself to others. One of those ways was through Boy Scouting, both locally and nationally. Many children, youth and families have been impacted eternally because Mary Ellen invested herself in a Scouting ministry. Both personally and on behalf of the Association of Baptists for Scouting, I want to express our deepest sympathy to the family and our profound gratitude for the life and ministry of Mary Ellen. We will miss her so! At the same time, we know she rests in the arms of her loving Lord from whom she hears "well done thy good and faithful servant."
