Bernice Boudreau Obituary

Bernice Rose Boudreau 1926-2012 SPRINGFIELD - Bernice Rose (Lavalley) Boudreau, a longtime resident of Springfield, and formerly of Fayette Street, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, just shy of her 86th birthday. Bernice was born on November 10, 1926 in Amesbury, MA, the daughter of the late Robert Hanron and Edith (Colby) Lavalley. She was raised in Amesbury and was a graduate of Amesbury High School. Bernice married her loving husband on October 28, 1945 in Amesbury, where they resided until 1953, at which time they moved to Springfield. Bernice was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, Springfield and was active in church and school functions until her later years. She was a loving, beautiful soul and we all feel blessed to have had her for our Mother, Grandmother/ Memere, and Great Grandmother. In addition to her parents, Bernice was pre-deceased by the love of her life, her husband of 61 years, Alphee Boudreau on May 11, 2007, her infant son, Paul Colby Boudreau on February 22, 1959, her beautiful granddaughter, Andrea Grace Boudreau on May 8, 1996, and her sisters, Edith Bell and Dorothy Blaisdell. Bernice is survived by her children, Robert A. Boudreau and his wife Barbara of Springfield, Phillip A. Boudreau and his wife Sharon of Ludlow, Barbara Jean Welch and her husband William of Springfield, and Beverly E. Iuliano and her husband Conrad of East Long-meadow; her ten much loved grandchildren, Michelle Pawlowski and her husband Jeff, Jacqueline Kinsey and her husband Andrew, Carrie Somppi and her husband Chris, Paul Boudreau, Brian Boudreau and his wife Michal, Sarah Thibodeau and her husband Michael, Jeffrey Welch and his wife Cristina, Carissa Iuliano, Brianna Iuliano, and Anthony Iuliano; 12 great-grandchildren and one baby boy who is on his way. Bernice is also survived by two brothers, Robert Lavalley of Haverhill, MA and James Lavalley of Amesbury, MA. Bernice's funeral will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 219 Plumtree Road, Springfield. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernice's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main Street, Natick, MA 01760 and or to the Alzheimer's Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Bernice was a joy to all who were blessed to know her. Even in her illness, she brought smiles to many faces. We love, honor, and will greatly miss our Mother always. Until we meet again, thank you Mom xxxooo. Visiting hours for Bernice will precede her service on Friday morning from 9 to 10 a.m.
