Being a pitcher, for the Cornerstone , in the women's Springfield fast pitch league for many years I remember Joellen always making sure she called the corners. She was not only a great person she was alao a great ump. She will be missed and remembered by many.

Joellen was a long time umpire in the Springfield Women's fast pitch league. Going back to the days when Fred and Aggie ran the league on Freeman Terrace. Joellen was a dedicated official, often referred to as a "pitchers umpire" because she always stayed in and called the corners instead of bailing out. As a catcher for many years, I know the women in the league appreciated her efforts-she really cared about the game and the players. She will be missed.

I'm not sure if my first message came through. But, Ms. McCarthy was a substitute teacher at The Springfield Renaissance in 6th grade. Whenever I saw Ms. McCarthy she brightened my day. She loved her kids and we loved her. I'm so sad I didn't get to say one last goodbye. My condolences to the family and she will forever live in my memory. She will be missed.
